Philippines: Part-time Financial Officer

A Million Voices is a small grass root organization that is looking for a Consultant for a part-time position as Financial Officer (FO) at its office in Ermita, Manila, the Philippines. You can read more about us here: www.amillionvoices.no.

I. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that all organization policies on finances are strictly implemented by the executive office and followed by all concerned personnel;
2. Prepare financial reports for the organization's main office in Norway, as well as checking and reviewing all financial reports that are to be submitted or independently examined by external auditors;
3. Prepare and submit required forms and reports to government institutions;
4. Review of vouchers, subsidiary ledgers, Summary of Canvass, Purchase Order and Purchase Requisition;
5. Ensure that all accounting transactions are being recorded in the applicable books of account;
6. Conduct surprise cash counts of all funds under the control of the Center Treasurer and other personnel;
7. Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statement and monthly financial reports;
8. File and coordinate with BIR and bank for applicable forms and statements;
9. Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements;
10. Continually make assessments and suggest improvements in the accounting system:
11. Involvement in annual & project budget preparation and review;
12. Conduct annual physical count of property & equipment and inventory;
13. Verify receipt of assets, as well as the physical state and quality, upon delivery by supplier.

II. REQUIREMENTS

a. Graduate in accounting.
b. Experience with accounting principles for NGOs.
c. Local resident in Metro Manila - if you are living outside of the Philippines, we will not be reviewing your application.
d. Good English proficiency.
e. Generally good computer skills.

III. NOTES ABOUT THE POST

A. This is a Consultancy vacancy. This means that the applicant is responsible for social security payments.
B. The day rate offered is PHP 970, subject to 10% withholding tax.
C. The FO needs to report two or three weekdays per week in our office.
D. We initially need to receive from you your application letter and resume with references.
E. If you are a possible candidate, we also need copy of your official ID, NBI Clearance, and diploma.

IV. START-UP

Position is with start-up as soon as possible, after passing the interview and reference and background checks.
